Gratitude is a word I have been using a lot lately, in discussions with my kids, friends, family, even my clients. It is a very powerful word, and when expressed properly, has the ability to make someone’s day or even change their life. With gratitude, people acknowledge the good in their lives. And despite the stress that accompanies each day, we all have a lot to be grateful for. Some of the things I am thankful for are tangible: a warm home, food to eat, clean clothes (mostly), Starbucks (duh), and performance fabric (amen!). But the things I am most grateful for are intangible: faith, love, friendship, and hope. Gratitude stems from positivity – something we all could use a little more of.
Yes, this time of year is overwhelming; the shopping, baking, decorating, wrapping, food prep, parties, gift exchanges, bills (ugh), Elf on the Shelf, Christmas cards… the list goes on… and on… and on! But it is also one of my most reflective times of year, where in the still of the night I thank God for all of my many blessings. I am even grateful for the mistakes because those mistakes are another opportunity to learn and grow.

To my dear clients, I am so thankful and grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you for trusting me with your design needs and for allowing me to be part of your lives in 2019. Thank you for letting me paint your cabinets blue, wallpaper your ceiling, and turn your dining room into an English garden. Liz Walton Home would not exist without all of you, and for that I am extremely grateful.

Some days are more manic than others, and you don’t even bat an eye at my crazy ideas! To my kids, I love you dearly but please stop stealing my office supplies! Lastly, I thank God and the universe for our journey through 2019. I can’t wait to see what happens in 2020!
